8" Handmade Fishbone Tibetan Powerful Goddess White Tara Mask- Yellow
Tara, meaning “star,” is a female Bodhisattva (or female Buddha, Savior, and Meditational Deity). Tara is a “Holy Mother.” There are 21 forms or manifestations of Taras, each of which is represented by a different color. Green and White Tara are widely used in Tibetan Buddhism. The following depict and distinguish the meanings of each.
White Tara – called the Mother of all Buddhas is known for compassion, long life, healing and serenity; also known as the Wish-fulfilling Wheel, expresses maternal compassion and offers healing to persons who are hurt or wounded, either physically or psychically or psychologically, bringing health, strength, longevity and beauty. Her white color signifies purity, truth and wisdom.
She has seven eyes in total but she has only three eyes on her face. One eye in her forehead symbolizes her ability to see the unity of ultimate reality (“wisdom”), and her two other eyes simultaneously see the relative and dualistic worlds. It is said that White Tara's seven eyes enable her to clearly "see" all beings in all the realms of existence.
Mantra: OM TARE TUTARE TURE MAMA AYURPUNYE JNANA PUTIN KURU SVAHA (Ohm Tahray Totahray tooray mahmah ahyoopoonyay jahnah pooteen kooroo swah hah) means long life, merit, and wisdom.
